About
Bio
I document the raw, unfiltered moments that have shaped my identity. By capturing the vibrant and diverse environment of the East Los Angeles community, I create images that resonate with the shared stories and positive experiences of the community I love. To me, the simple and often overlooked moments connect my experience of Mexican-American heritage with personal stories that shape my pride and deep sense of belonging. I work digitally and in film, but I prefer film because it slows me down. It becomes a meditative process, where I can’t just stop and go, but instead engage fully with my subject by listening and building trust with each person. There’s also a nostalgic element to it, as my dad would often share his film work with me, reminding me where my inspiration for photography began. With each frame, I honor my roots, preserve the stories of my community, and continue exploring the intersection of culture, identity, and memory.
